Left it late? The digital book doesn't care.
Most personalised books need a week or more in the post. Most of our digital books are ready within the hour after story approval. For a last-minute gift, choose digital and leave time to review the story; hardcover printing and delivery take longer.
Print it, read it off a tablet, or send it to grandparents on the other side of the world. Then order the hardcover in January when the post has calmed down, if you want one.
The Christmas Eve box gift that isn't another pair of pyjamas
Christmas Eve boxes tend to fill up with things that get opened once. A book where they're the main character is the one they'll ask you to read that night, and again on Boxing Day, and again in February.

Christmas questions, answered
Will it arrive in time for Christmas?
Creating the illustrations and PDF takes time after you approve the story. Hardcover printing and delivery take additional time and depend on the destination. Our Christmas delivery cut-off will be announced once confirmed.
Can I give the digital book as a physical gift?
Yes. Print it at home, put it on a tablet in a Christmas Eve box, or print the first page as a card that tells them the full book is coming. Plenty of parents do exactly that and then order the hardcover afterwards.
Does the story have to be about Christmas?
Not at all. Christmas themes are available, but you can pick any theme — dinosaurs, space, animals, a quest — and it's still a Christmas present. Some children would much rather have the dinosaur book.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Not currently. The hardcover arrives in protective packaging, but it isn't gift-wrapped.
Can I add a message?
Yes. You can add a personal foreword that's printed inside the book, which for a Christmas gift is often the part that gets kept.
Can I buy it for a child in another country?
Choose the recipient's supported delivery country in the builder. The hardcover price includes delivery and local VAT. The digital book is downloadable and can be created in English, Spanish, French, German or Dutch.
What if I don't like the story?
